Customer Service Centers

According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of customer service representatives is expected to grow 15 percent from 2010 to 2020 and the employment of computer support specialists is expected to grow 18 percent over that same time period.

Industrial Ambassadors: Sykes Enterprises is one the larger employers in Williamsburg County and operates a customer service center in Kingstree.   Sykes began operations in Kingstree in 2009 and provides customer service to companies including, but not limited to, Dell, American Express and Delta Airlines.

Williamsburg County Advantages: Williamsburg Technical College ranked 19th amongst nation’s best community college (2013-Washington Monthly College Guide and Ranking) offers Associate and Associate of Science degrees for students intending to transfer to a four-year university program. The college also offers Associate of Applied Science and Certificate programs in area that may provide workers with skills needed for customer service and technical support positions such as Administrative Office Technology, Administrative Support, General Business, Small Business Management, and Wording Processing. Williamsburg Technical College also works with new and expanding industries to train workers and can provide customized training to meet the needs of specific industries. Training is generally conducted at the company location where the trainee is employed and may consist of both classroom and on-the-job training.
